| New Glycine AIRMAN Special II Created for Purists | Apr 11, 2008 |

Glycine experts and aficionados have long been waiting for the brand's new AIRMAN model to be housed in a 42-mm-in-diameter case. Now their dream has come true - Glycine has unveiled the AIRMAN Special II featuring 24-hour display.
The design of the new Glycine AIRMAN Special II pays tribute to the pioneering times when the brand introduced its first watches with world time function. Those models appeared back in the 1950s.
Many experts of the brand have highly appreciated the very first AIRMAN models -they were developed as functional watches that featured neither frills not additional functions - real timekeeping companions for purists.
According to Katherina Brechbuhler, CEO of Glycine Watch, the team of the brand has been pleased to create a new model aimed at such aficionados, having developed the AIRMAN Special II specially for them. The model, providing clear 24-hour display and two time zones, is modestly sized by Glycine standards.
| Aerowatch Renaissance Tourbillon - Exquisite Sophistication and Refinement | Feb 14, 2008 |
Watch manufacturer AEROWATCH SA has created a one-of-a-kind 18-K rose gold timepiece with Tourbillon. The new timepiece of AEROWATCH is a bold attempt of the Jura-based company to explore new horizons in the horology field.
The 42-mm-diameter case of the AEROWATCH is crafted in 18-K rose gold. This classic gold case was produced in the workshops of a manufactory located in Le Noirmont. It demonstrates a domed sapphire crystal on the side of the dial and a transparent flat sapphire crystal on the side of the movement.
The movement, decorated with 'Cotes de Geneve' pattern, provides a 5-day power reserve obtained with help of two barrels. The future owner of the remarkable timepiece may have his watch personalized with a special engraving.
The silvered dial is 'engine-turned' in the left center part. It demonstrates a circular satin-finished flange with minute-circle and an aperture found at 9 o'clock allows to rest one's eyes on the complete rotation performed by the regulating organ in one minute.
To come up with an extra touch of refinement, the hands, serving as the hour-symbols, are rose colored finely matching the case. The timepiece embraces the wrist with a genuine alligator watch strap fitted with a personalized 18-K rose gold pin buckle.
This new timekeeping creation of AEROWATCH SA has joined the Renaissance collection. The watch is presented in a very exclusive limited edition of only 10 pieces. | Carl F.Bucherer Presents: Innovative Patravi Chronograde | Feb 12, 2008 |
The Patravi Chronograde created by Carl F.Bucherer took two years of thorough development. As a result, there appeared the first ever timepiece equipped with six useful functions, as well as a retrograde hour display for the chronograph function. Altogether, the watch offers seven useful functions that are the following:
- a chronograph
- flyback function
- large date
- annual calendar
- power reserve indication
- retrograde hours totalizator.
The most intricate function of the Patravi Chronograde is the chronograph with the retrograde hours indicator. Following one rotation of the centrally-placed chronograph hand, the minute totalizator positioned at 9 o'clock moves along one more graduation mark. This is linked via a gearing mechanism to the hours counter featured between 7 and 8 o'clock, rotating on its own. The corresponding hand moves down through a special semi-circular scale. When the hours counter finds itself at the end of its scale, it shoots back at once to its starting point to start moving again from this position.
This function has been specially elaborated for those who have extremely little time at their disposal. Imagine, for example, pilots in the cockpit, when they are in the landing queue and it's necessary to fly round in standard loops. Its takes the pilots too much time to stop the chronograph each time and, prior to every new circuit, re-zero and re-start the chronograph again. The owners of the Patravi Chronograde will be able to press the push-piece one time to restart the chronograph directly, with no need for an intermediate stopping action.
Besides a big-sized date display, the Carl F.Bucherer sports a highly complicated calendar responsible for taking into account the months with 30 or 31 days. The owner of the timepiece will have to make just one adjustment at the end of February -it is necessary to use the crown to reset the calendar completely for the following year.
The Patravi Chronograde is characterized by extreme masculinity. The steel case of the watch measures 44mm in diameter, and boasts 50-meter water-resistance. The overall look of timepiece is finely completed by a leather or robust high-grade steel bracelet.| Instrument BR03-92 Military - Military Design by Essence | Feb 08, 2008 |
Bell and Ross has recently introduced a new kaki model to join its BR03 range. The Instrument BR03-92 Military features a resolutely military look. The 42-mm masculine watch is light, waterproof, resistant and has an easy-to-read dial. The timepiece seems to be created for those who dream about roaming in the jungle, somewhere at the other end of the world.
Instrument BR01 XXL developed by Bell and Ross earlier enjoyed commercial and aesthetic success. However, some customers considered that an oversized diameter might not be ideal for everyday wearing.
Bell and Ross BR03 created in 2007 is just the right choice for those who appreciate more 'classical' and reasonable sizes. The timepiece measuring 42 mm in diameter has become a true alternative to the BR01 with its 46-mm case.
Created in the same spirit as its 'big sister', the BR03 model greatly resembles a cockpit clock in a plane. It has been created as a professional instrument by essence. Following the steps of the BR01, the new model represents an essentially utilitarian watch, designed to appeal specially to pilots.
As all the models developed by Bell and Ross, the Instrument BR 03-92 Military reflects the four basic principles of the brand:- Readability,
- Functionality,
- Precision,
- Waterproofness.
| Armand Nicolet L07 - Smart Investment Ahead in Time | Feb 05, 2008 |
The new Armand Nicolet Limited Edition has taken up a new challenge and joined the exclusive world of chronographs. Following the original series equipped with small seconds functions, Armand Nicolet L07 has been created in a new chronograph version.
The new Armand Nicolet L07 watch is united in a limited edition of 140 pieces. The timepiece reveals an amazing range of color combinations of its dials and straps. Twenty pieces have incorporated the prominent movement VENUS 175 with column wheel, while the rest of 120 pieces are equipped with the VENUS 188 with 'navettes' system.
This collection has overcome the brand's tradition of developing only very finely decorated movements, the beauty of which is revealed through transparent case backs in sapphire crystal and dial openings.
The plate and the bridges of the movements are worth special attention - they are fully decorated with a new motif called 'Cote de Nicolet' by Armand Nicolet. First, the surface of the plate and bridges acquires perfect polishing. During the next stage, the plate and bridges are manually decorated with help of a special tool with an ivory point. The tool is used for scraping the surface, thus creating nice lines every 2 mm.
The pattern has been inspired by the decoration applied in the 1930s only on high-end movements developed during that period. All the work performed on the movement recuperates the signature hand-craftsmanship of Armand Nicolet. The heads of the screws are so flat that if to look at them from a front view, they seem to be black, due to the ideal light reflection.
The balance wheel has incorporated the counter-weight system. The movement, with a 18000-vibrations per hour beat, offers 32-hour power reserve. The same as the Limited Editions introduced earlier, the movement is provided with the engraving of the limited number on the frame opening on the dial.
The Armand Nicolet L07 watch goes in a special wood case, accompanied by the Certificate of Authenticity. With the value destined to increase over the years, the timepiece has been created for collectors who highly appreciate not only the excellence of the watch's mechanical execution, but also the smart investment ahead in time.

| Villemont Arctic Explorer Limited Edition Lewis Pugh | Dec 25, 2007 |

On 15th July 2007, Lewis Gordon Pugh, famous explorer from Britain, was courageous enough to swim 1km through the North Pole's freezing waters in temperatures of - 1.8 degrees Celsius. As dictated by the Channel Swimming Association Rules, the explorer swam wearing just a swimming costume, cap and goggles.
To fulfill this amazing record and a physically-challenging feat, Lewis Gordon Pugh came through a long and intensive preparation period. The swim took the explorer 18 minutes and 50 seconds. He broke a new record – no one has ever swum such a great distance in such extreme temperatures as waters of the North Pole. The reason Lewis Gordon Pugh decided to undertake such a challenge is to visibly demonstrate and attract more public attention to the issue of global warming with its consequences and the urgency of the situation.
Villemont became the official timekeeper for the swimming challenge. The watchmaking company launched a limited edition watch collection created specially to mark the occasion. Villemont also decided to donate part of the proceeds from the limited edition watches' sale to support the WWF's fight against global warming, and saving of the polar regions.
The unique timepiece, called 'Arctic Explorer Limited Edition Lewis Pugh,' represents a sporty-styled automatic chronograph characterized by the mixture of masculinity and elegance. The timepiece was featured on the wrist of Lewis Gordon Pugh throughout his challenging voyage to the North Pole.
The Villemont Arctic Explorer watch has been produced in a limited edition of just 50 pieces. The timepiece has incorporated the Solar Navigator navigation system that provides its user with easy orientation with help of the sun position and shade. All 50 Arctic Explorer watches proved to function perfectly in the conditions of the extreme temperatures.
The designers of the Villemont watch opted for British Racing Green as the major color of the timepiece. Their choice of color reminds everyone about the illustrious British racing cars around at the turn of the 20-th century. The green color also hints at Lewis Pugh's environmental campaign and his attempt to raise public awareness of the problem of global warming.
The movement beating in the heart of the Arctic Explorer reflects the Villemont tradition and corresponds to the top standards in terms of testing and water-resistance. The mechanism is also special for its appealing aesthetics. The rotor bridge and the oscillating weight are fully decorated with the 'Clou de Villemont', the one-of-a-kind V-shaped pattern of the brand. All these remarkable details may be admired through a transparent sapphire case-back.
The bezel of the Villemont watch is provided with the Solar Navigation System, a really useful tool when exploring in extreme conditions. The system represents a manual version of the universal GPS system that allows the wearer to navigate in all conditions with no need to rely on batteries or the satellites position.
The Solar Navigation System is easy to use - it is necessary to align the number on the bezel that corresponds to the hour indicated on the dial with the hour hand.
